How do I Connect my Nighthawk ac1900 to my Modem?

Connect my Nighthawk ac1900 To My Modem:

As an example, if you have nighthawk router with genie user interface and if you have a DSL internet connection also.

To configure your router for the cable internet connection with smart wizard:

• Firstly you connect your modem to the internet port of the nighthawk router and your computer to any of the four LAN Port
• You need to switch off your computer, router and broadband /cable modem and on again and wait for them all to finish booting up
• Thereafter open any installed web browser and type the router’s IP address which would be either http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1 in the browser address bar and thereafter press enter.
• Now you need to login with the valid credentials
•  Admin is the default username and the password is default password
• The username and password is case sensitive
• The default username and password is admin and password and if you default username and password is not working properly, you might change the password and you need to try some another password that you might have changed it. One of another alternate solutions of is factory restore by default if you have lost the password or forget the password.

Restore Operation

• You have to press the reset button by using a thin paper clip to perform the reset operation
• Later you need to wait for two or three minutes to complete the restore the operation
• Thereafter click on the setup wizard and you will get setup wizard screen display
• On the setup wizard screen, you need to select yes and click on the next button
• Now this setup wizard will detect the type of internet connection and for the cable internet connection, the setup wizard detects dynamic IP address
• You need to click on next button and you router will save the settings

Note: it is advised not to change the default setting unless your internet service provider gave you specific configured DNS information

• You have to select router status which is reside under the maintenance
• Router status is used to check if you are connected to the internet
• Now you see the IP address to make sure that it is not filled up with 0.0.0.0

Steps to Connect Nighthawk ac1900 In Router Mode:

Hardware Connection

Firstly you need to connect one end of Ethernet cable to the LAN port of your modem and another end of the WAN port on your connect to nighthawk router

Thereafter you connect your computer or laptop to the nighthawk router

Web Portal of Router

Thereafter open any installed browser on your computer or laptop and type the following address in the address bar of your browser

The address is http://www.routerlogin.net and if this link does not work you can use another address http://www.routerlogin.com or http://192.168.1.1

On entering these web addresses you have to press enter to proceed on the next steps

Now you will get login screen where you have to enter your username and password. By default user name is admin and the password is password and both the details are case sensitive

Note: if the default login credentials do not work, you may require to change the admin password. If you are unable to remember your new password, you must perform factory resetting operation to restore your router with its original settings

• Thereafter you need to click on the advance option then go into advance setup and then Router/AP/Bridge/Repeating mode
• Then select router mode
• Thereafter click on the apply button and your router will reboot and it will enter into router mode and your device will have a new IP address from the router with its default gateway of 192.168.1.1
