Below are the steps that you need to carry out to set up your extender device.

Keep the default username “admin” only and set a password that is different from the password of your wireless network.

Step 6: Go to the drop-down menu, choose any two security questions, and answer. You can recover the admin credentials of your extender by answering the questions if you forget it.

Step 7: Select NEXT. Select continue if your extender asks you whether you want to use the Netgear Genie for assistance.

Now your extender will start searching for available wireless networks.

Step 8: Choose the radio button for your wireless network names. In case you don’t see any networks, then select the option of “See More”.

Step 9: Select Next.

Step 10: Enter the password of your present network and then select Next.

Step 11: Now, choose the network name and password for your extender.

Step 12: If you are using the MESH extender, then you can keep the same network name and password as the network that you are currently using.

Select the option of “enable One WiFi name” to turn on this feature.

Step 13: Select Next. The Netgear extender setup will apply the new settings. This may take a while. The extender will show the network name and password for every extended brand. Note down the network name and password.

Step 14: Launch WiFi settings on the smartphone or computer that you want to connect to the extender network and then connect it to the extender.

Step 15: Launch your internet browser and check the box given at the end of the page. Now, select “Continue”.
