How to Turn Off UPnP on Netgear NIghthawk Routers?

  • Apply after unticking the Turn UPnP On checkbox.

  • Tap on apply

  • Your Netgear router will inform you that a restart is necessary. You must be back to work in a short while.

Please contact the manufacturer if any of your internal network hardware breaks. They should be able to advise you on which ports to open and how to do so. If they insist that you have UPnP enabled, you will need to decide whether to re-enable it or remove a device that compromises the security of your network.
